I am currently trying to teach myself PHP. I'v got most of the basics and I thought it would be helpful to download a PHP page and see how it works. Is it possible to do this without getting the html output? all I want it the PHP code. I haven't found a way to do it and I am starting to wonder if it is not possible without FTP access. Any suggestions?

I know some of you will probably say something like, "don't bother downloading a page, just read a how-to book," but I have spent so much time trying to do this I refuse to give up! I will not sleep until I figure it out!

not possible if you just have http access. by the time it leaves the webserver the php is already interpreted, or whatever the proper term is.

Unless the web admin has accidentally turned off php. (has happenned in the past, there are methods to stop your code being broadcast around the web, however)
