Hi,

I am interested in learning to program using Apples Cocoa development environment using XCODE and interface builder etc. I studied software development about 5 or 6 years ago at University using mostly C and a little C++. Recently I have been learning PHP and developing various pieces of web based software.

I have looked at Apples documentation for cocoa and am finding it quite difficult to grasp. Does anyone know any good starting points on the web for learning it? Also, I haven't had much dealings with Java or Objective-C, which would you recommend is the best path to go down and which has the most cocoa documentation availiable?

I tried using the O'reily book on getting started with COcoa but I found it started off very basic for the first couple of chapters then became very complex and took things far too fast without explaing a lot of things in detail. So if anyone could help me in getting started learning the stuff, I would be very grateful.

Thanks in advance,

Richard Seale

Cocoa/Objective-C is much better documented than Cocoa/Java (or any of the million other languages with a Cocoa bridge). That's just the language it was meant for.

As for learning, I've always liked Cocoa Dev Central. But in my opinion, the best way to learn is just to dive in and try playing around with it. It's easier to understand a description of something after you've done it at least a little. That's what I think, anyway.
