Does anybody know where I can find a copy of Java 1.5?
I know that if you copy the Java 1.5 DP binaries from Tiger's /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.Framework/Versions/1.5 to Panther, it will work. Now if I can just find those binaries...

Join Apple's Developer program and buy the Tiger Preview.

That link in your sig explains it all.

You must have rocks in your skull.

Copying binaries from Tiger without paying for them is stealing.
signatures are a waste of bandwidth
especially ones with political tripe in them.

Stealing? Give me a break. Apple is far too slow in delivering Java 1.5
I have a project that requires Java 1.5 now. If we're lucky Apple will deliver Java 1.5 with Tiger... in May/June at the earliest. That is just pathetic.

Your logic is amusing.

I should go steal a Dodge Charger concept car, because I want one, and Dodge is too slow releasing them.

Get a clue.

Why don't you go to Sun's website, download the Unix JDK and set up your own development tree.

I'm sorry, if you feel justified in stealing the stuff before it's released you are a wing nut.

Agreed, stealing is wrong, period. Whether it's music, movies, software, or physical items, it's just plain wrong - regardless of the reasons.

Not to bring this back on topic or anything, but does anyone have an idea about apple's plans for java 1.5? I also need it for class, and I would rather not have to use my slow-as-molasses pc instead of my G5. Do I have to wait till Tiger, or will it be released for Panther before then?
