I'd like to add a blog to an existing page...but I know almost no PHP. I'm using an Apache server with MySQL and I've been able to install a few of the free PHP blogs that are out there, and they're great, but they pretty much take over the whole page. Can anyone recommend a simple option for adding an auto-archiving blog to the body of an existing site (did I mention I know almost no PHP?). Thanks.

I use Nanoblogger locally and then upload the results to my host, but if you have shell access you can also run it straight off the host. In addition to producing full webpages, it also makes "parts" which are, for instance, just the entries of a blog, without all the html headers and whatever. These are ideal for inclusion in another page via PHP.

What do you use MySQL for, and what language do you use for that? Blogging software has been written in almost every language, so we may be able to help you while letting you stick to what you know. PHP is useful to learn even if you don't use it yourself, because there's a lot of good code out there written with it, but if you know another language better then it's probably best to stick with that.

Thanks for the tips. My host uses MySQL, and that's about all I know. Nanoblog looks interesting, but I'm think I'm gonna have to just suck it up and learn some PHP.
