How do sites like this: @Media 2005 get the header to float outside of the content area? How do make a header image be wider than the content area while the background still reaches the rest of the content?

Would love to be able to do it but looking at the source code and CSS, I can't see it. Someone want to let me borrow their spec?

my guess would be...
Code:
#header { position: absolute; left: -27px; top: 0; }
i'll be at that conference, hopefully.

my guess is that they probably have two column css setup with a static header similar to the way my three column setup is here. The title bar likely goes all the way across and the header image is just centered and the background behind it is set to be black.
