I know this is probably a dumb question, but I am trying to use the built-in apache server on my mac (OS X 10.3.8) and it doesn't recognize my index.htm file, it will only recognize it if I rename it to index.html. I realize I could just change the name and add the "L", but I know there is a way to change this minor problem. Can you guys help a noobie out?

I should have searched first...
I found the info I need here, but I have no idea how to find, let alone edit, the httpd.conf file. So all I need now are instructions to help me find/edit the httpd.conf. Preferably in an app like textedit, the terminal is OK, but textedit would be better

for future reference to those who actually might use the search, a command that should work is:

sudo /Applications/TextEdit.app/Contents/MacOS/TextEdit /etc/httpd/httpd.conf
