Hello,
we are now studying Prolog at school and I need a compiler and a program for Prolog for Mac OS X. Is there any? I have googled around, but I didn't get good results.

Anyone?

Well, the first hit I found on Google took me to:

http://gnu-prolog.inria.fr/

Which is the GNU Prolog website, which talks about OS X being supported and in fact, there's even an IDE for OS X.

I downloaded the prolog compiler source and it built without difficulty.

I was curious about this as well a short while back when doing some Prolog, and came up with this list of options:

I think my teacher has quite a different attitude to this. He says Prolog is considered to be the potential A.I. programming language of the future. We haven't digged into it very deeply, yet, but the shapes are arising already. In addition, I think he wanted to show us that programming languages don't always need to be algorithm-based...
