Hi all,
Here's a quick note (the only one I'll send out to to the Developer Center here) to announce this year's iteration of the Advanced Developers Hands On Conference. If you've never heard of ADHOC, you might know it by its other name of MacHack. If you've never heard of that conference, ask just about any other Macintosh developer.
ADHOC is a conference run by developers, for developers. It'll happen this year from July 27th through July 31st in Dearborn, Michigan. ADHOC is one of those "must-attend" conferences for folks who love working with cutting edge technology, it's an awesome stand-alone conference for both intensely experienced developers and those new to programming on the Macintosh, or it makes a perfect companion conference to attend along with WWDC (we always try to schedule ADHOC at least a month after Apple's conference). Where WWDC focuses on the latest and greatest directions from Apple, ADHOC shows you how to make use of these emerging and established technologies in a hands-on, collaborative environment, plus there should be sessions on anything else that could be applicable and useful to the kind of work you do. Sessions on open source software, networking, the latest on how to use Tiger technologies such as Spotlight, code optimization & debugging, etc.
If you are working on something you'd love to share knowledge with other developers on, check out our session web page at
http://www.adhocconference.com/sessions and send a message to "sessions2005@adhocconference.com".
ADHOC has also put out a "Call for Papers", where authors can have their work judged by peers. This is a great opportunity for student developers to make their thesis shine. Or you can have your white paper evaluated by folks who might be enthusiastic to read what you are working on. The Call for Papers information, and past papers, can be found at
http://www.adhocconference.com/papers.
The last day to get in under the "early bird" registration deadline is April 15th. So beat the tax day rush and register online!
