Will XCode 1.1 run on Tiger?
I'm getting some strange errors ... I'm just wondering if my XCode is wonky, or if I'm required to upgrade.

Xcode is usually tied to the OS version, at least to a certain extent. I would recommend against using a version of Xcode with a different version of the OS. Why don't you want to upgrade, anyway? Xcode 2 comes with Tiger, so it's not like you'll have trouble getting it.

I'm following a book, just didn't want to diverge too much from the examples within. :-)

XCode 2 will not diverge too much.
Chuckit is also right. Many development frameworks are installed. It's best just to use the version that comes with the OS.

Xcode 2 is also many times better than 1.1.

Thanks. I can't wait to see the improvements. Hopefully the code I've already tinkered with won't break.
(In the Windows world ... where I came from ... we tend to keep 3 or 4 different versions of the development environment installed so we can work on older releases as they tend to break in the newer environments.
I'm glad to see that this is different. (Hopefully!)

I've never had a Project Builder/Xcode release break something I was working on.
And as goMac said, Xcode 2 is extremely similar to Xcode 1 from what I've seen. It looks like they've mainly added features rather than changing functionality that was already there, so your book should still work fine.
