thx
There were once four people named Everybody, Somebody, Nobody and Anybody. Somebody had to do a job, but Nobody wanted to do it. Nobody could see that Anybody could do it, and Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job. Nobody ended up doing it, and it so happened that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

I use Eclipse w/ the JSP editor plugin. It might be overkill for you but for me I'm usually editing JSP/JS/Java/XML files all for one related project so its nice to have them all open in one IDE.

Do you know what you are doing?

If you are just beginning J2EE development, download NetBeans, and JBoss.
That's all you need to start having loads of J2EE fun on a mac.
signatures are a waste of bandwidth
especially ones with political tripe in them.

First, welcome to J2EE

Second, buy J2EE Core Patterns. You'll be doing yourself, and anyone you write code for a huge favor.

Third, download Netbeans. It's a pure Java IDE with an OSX app bundled version that is a very nice IDE, and has templates for J2EE projects.

Fourth, download JBoss: it's a J2EE application server and has all the jars you need.

Fifth, don't pull out all your hair at once. Have fun. Good luck!
