Does anyone know any web-sites with forums dedicated to OSX programming? (Besides this forum of course).

I need to figure out how to query the hardware level (such as to collect a system inventory). I'm having a heck of a time finding the proper API or anyone who has a clue how to do this.

I'll look into them. I generally shy away from anything that adds to my already over-full e-mail boxes.

If the Cocoa/Carbon/Obj-C email lists are anything like the CoreAudio list, they are totally worth using. Most CoreAudio questions are promptly answered by Apple engineers.

As the risk of sounding like I can't work a search engine does anyone know where I can browse / sign-up for these mailing lists?

Some of the best lists are over at OmniGroup, and you can answer a lot of your own questions by looking at Cocodev.

Unfortunately, both of those are Cocoa specific. So, if you have to do a bit of Carbon programming as well, you shouldn't be looking there.
