Software Engineer
Job Description: The Software Engineer for CNET's Games and Entertainment division will be an integral part of the development team. Developer will be responsible for building and maintaining new features as well as supporting existing ones for the sites in the entertainment group. The primary development will be related to internal web-based editorial and production tools, integrating existing components such as forums, journals, and hardware database already developed for GameSpot, MP3 and TV.com. Responsibilities will also extend to any of the applications associated with the Games and Entertainment initiatives. Linux, PHP, and MySQL are an absolute must, but a deep understanding of all web technologies from a technical and product perspective are also very important. The applicant must have a passion for providing a great user experience rather than just looking for technical challenges. Technical Documentation / Project Manager
Job Description: This position focuses on producing and writing all system administrator, infrastructure, software API, installation, support, user guides and related technical manuals/reference documents, for the Paid Services group. This position understands both software and hardware development life cycles; and continually improves the development and support documentation process by documenting and building a library of guides/reference templates for Paid Services. In addition, the position manages and create projects, delegate tasks and track progress planning and execution (including 3rd party); by assessing project feasibility, gathered requirements, and executed project plans for the Paid Services group.
