Hello All,

I have started a new ( read: another ) web project that will consist of a main site, blog, forums and wiki.

All will be running off of the same mysql db.

I'm would like to be able to do 2 things:

1. Set it up for 1 log in so users do not have to keep logging in at different areas of the site.

2. if I can somehow set it up so regardless of where you search ( main site, blog, forums or wiki ) it will return results from all areas.

Any advice out there? I'm sure it's simple php that I am currently unfamiliar with.

Thanks.

You're incorporating main site and packes for blog, forums and wiki.
You can make a 1-login for all of them by tweaking each package to comply with your common login implementation. I can't give specifics since it's your code that will depend on the approach.

hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply, I thought it was possible.

The problem is that I am new to php and mysql, so I am a bit lost.

Really what I'm looking for is simply a place to start, but I'm not sure where that is.

Just for the record, I'm using a wordpress blog, vanilla forums and mediawiki.

So, it looks like I'm going to settle and use adsense to search the entire site. This a community, so the ads may actually help instead of annoy. we'll see.
