I have a pool of 200ish users using an Intranet site and I'm looking for some examples of 'people pickers', ie. some UI solution to allow the user easily select individuals from that pool (for creating their own groups).

Preferably something that works without JavaScript, but anything goes

A long page with everybody and a checkbox next to them has been suggested. Sounds crude, but with 'only' 200 people and the 'find' tool in browsers, it actually isn't all that bad. But something more elegant and initially less scary would be nice.

How would your users decide who they wanted to include? By photo? By common interests? If you can have people FILTER THE LIST BY ATTRIBUTES it would help quite a bit. Do your users have profiles of info about them?

Otherwise I'd simply list them with a PAGING METHOD to have 25 listed on a page at a time, then choose NEXT/PREVIOUS buttons to go through the list.

It will make it easier as your user list grows to have some searching methods that search info fields about the users as suggested in the first paragraph.
