The php error does not show in safari, why?

When i have made some syntax error of php in my page, and my windows machine can show some error message,e.g. tell me the line number of the error; however, in Mac os x, i just a blank screen, no error message at all, can someone help me to get the error message function out?
The broswer i am using are FireFox and Safari.

There were once four people named Everybody, Somebody, Nobody and Anybody. Somebody had to do a job, but Nobody wanted to do it. Nobody could see that Anybody could do it, and Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job. Nobody ended up doing it, and it so happened that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Is this on the same server? I would guess that on one machine the php.ini says to not display error messages while the other server is set to display them.
