Greetings,

I recently bought a 12' Powerbook which I love to death (I'm a student so needed the twelver to travel with it). It's my first Mac since my dad's Classic and I will most likely never go back to a PC... Anyway, I want to learn how to build websites. I'm not talking Angelfire stuff; I'm wanting to build a nice, pro-looking website for my girlfriend and am interested in web design in general but have no idea where to start.

Do any of you have recommendations as to where to start? Books? Online tutorials? Should I go for html and css? How about WYSIWYG stuff like Dreamweaver and others?

Any help would be appreciated for a fellow new to all this stuff. Thank you so very much!
