I have some graphics given to me in Photoshop to animate in Flash. I can't figure out how to get the text from the Photoshop file into Flash in a vector format so that when I zoom it it doesn't blur. Anyone have some good links on getting started in file importing? I can figure out the animating stuff from books I have, but can't find any good info on getting my graphics from Photoshop.

I have no idea. Just what you wnat to here, right? Frankly, I'd just do the text in Flash. At least that way you know it's going to look good.

Just a tip, but after you've imported the images to your library, right or control click on the images, choose Properties and uncheck "Use imported JPEG data" and change the quality to 90. Images look just as good and the size drops an incredible degree.

save it out of photoshop as photoshop EPS or PDF and when you import into flash the text will be vectorised [although it won't be editable - flash converts the text to a group of vector shapes]

you may want to export as a PNG at the maximum size the image will be zoomed to in Flash. Reason being that Flash animates bitmaps faster than vector artwork. And by exporting as PNG you can keep the alpha channel.

As mentioned above, go into the properties and change the setting to "lossless". Or test it to see which setting looks best. Typically PNG for vector style artwork, JPEG for photos. You could also try getting Flash to trace the artwork. But this would give you vector artwork.

BUt then again with resizing bitmaps in Flash it doesn't do it smoothly (well not to my eyes), so it's more trial and error what works for one thing, might not work for another, technically or visually.

PNG 24 usually works great for me... it can dull out the color sometimes though
