I made a grave error today and wiped out the entire contents of a valuable MySQL database using PHPMyAdmin. I thought I had accessed one particular database in my domain, but it turns out Safari had automatically logged into another database which I didn't mean to touch, and I ended up dropping tables on the WRONG database.

I should have had a backup, of course... I can't blame this on anyone but myself... But is there some faint glimmer of hope for recovering this database?... I know there's no "undo" button... But any other possibility for recovering this info?

This is not on my own machine. It is on my web host's server.

Contact the host.

I've heard of databases being restored.

Many hosts do daily or weekly backups. Some will recover data from the last backup for you for a fee. Some will not do this regardless of how much money you throw at them.

Most decent hosts would recover this for you from their last backup, for the cost of their time. (expect to pay $80 - $150USD)
