Gulp, seems to be pricey.

What would I have to pay per month for a minimum package? ( before I go about adapting everything to run on MySql )

Do you mean a minimum package with mysql ? It depends on the web host. My SQL database connectivity and creation is standard with many Unix Host. it should be no more expensive than any other hosting account.
I hope I understood your question.

Skalie...
I think it's pretty difficult to find a host that does not include MySQL DBs... usually as many as you want.

I've got a cheapo domain hosted with VistaPages.com (but I'm a little concerned they OWN the name... so I don't advise registering with them, even if you host there)... Price: $2.95/mo if I recall. Seems quite reliable so far.

Or if you go with DreamHost and put in someone's promo code your $120/year plan gets reduced to something quite low. I found someone's " GREEKBIBLE50 " code and got billed only $70 for the year. Again: unlimited MySQL DBs.

[Note for connection code, however, at DH: rather than "localhost" you must use "yourusername.yournewdomain.com" . ]

I think you guys missed the detail in skalie's post. He is looking for M (S) SQL hosting rather than the more common M (y) SQL.

MSSQL costs much more because the provider has to pay a license fee to Microsoft compare with MySQL which is open source.

Thanks for catching that maccrazy...

Sorry, my eyes have a tendency just not to see 'M' and 'S' together.
