At the very least if what is posted here is true looking to bend everyone over in the long run and set up the internet as permanent cash cow like a feudal lord... For doing almost nothing... simple, largely automated processes--services of this type get cheaper to provide every year in so many other industries but these turkeys wish to have the right to impose without supervision a 7% per anum increase...WORST YET: they get the right of presumptive renewal -- if I understand it correctly, it means they'll just pass this business down the generations...and who wouldn't continue to renew a business who's costs go down and revenues will always increase???

Admittedly I need to learn more of this issue, but whether or not you're into hosting a domain, it would certainly seem time to

I read about this just today. Ridiculous. I'm trying to get as many people as I can to write in about it. Awareness on something like this is likely to be low. *Sigh*
I also read a story about how a few registrars are putting in a formal complaint.
