Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has any advise on adding a new menu item onto existing software like safari or Preview 3.

I'm not a pro developer, I just started out developing in java and had an idea how I can improve Preview 3. I notice that "Concierge" is an external software which add itself to the menubar of safari, so it seems possible to add a new menu item to Preview too.

By looking at the file "Concierge" installed on my system, there are
- /Library/Application Support/Concierge/Concierge.bundle
- /Library/InputManagers/ConciergeLoader/ConciergeLoader.bundle
- ~/Library/Preferences/net.bti.Concierge.plist
- ~/Library/Application Support/Concierge

Any advise? I have no idea how to start. Thanks

Allows you to run arbitrary code in any program.

another possibility would be to edit the existing .nib files to do what you want. of course, that's rather limited, since it relies on the program already having the methods and stuff that you want to use loaded into the nib.

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried out the InputManager method and it seems to work quite well. Cheers. Now I'll have to learn CoCoa to start hacking.
