I usually use omnigraffle to create wireframe outlines of websites before I create the actual mockups in photoshop. Unfortunately I don't have time to fully code the site and my job is to pass off crazy beautiful psd files of what the site should look like exactly.
As you probably all know making website mockups in PS can be a real pain in the butt. I was wondering does anyone have alpha transparent library of objects?
For example. Radio Buttons, Dropdowns, Textfields, TextArea. (the last two are pretty easy to make)
But often I need to include all kinds of mockups that have form fields and other stuff that drive me crazy, I'll often just create html code to draw a popup or textfield the length i need it then screenshot it into the document.
Obviously though with dropdown menus they always have that extra color in the corner since they are rounded. Is there anyway I can extract a alpha transparent version of the Mac OS X popup menu?
I often wish there was an application just for building mockups. A cross between photoshop & fireworks.
Anyone have thoughts on this? Also if I could build a library of elements... take for example an texteditfield... would there be any way to force it to only stretch horizontally in photoshop?
Another issue I often have is fonts. If I want to put a label on my fake form field in photoshop, it never looks like it would in a web browser, photoshop always anti-aliases it to much. This is the one GREAT thing about Macromedia Fireworks, you can select "system anti-aliasing" so you get text that looks exactly how it would in a web browser when making mockups. Thoughts and sugggestions?
Does anyone have a pre-made set of elements for design they would like to share?
