Hello:

I've had several friends who use Windows PCs tell me that while they can download my QuickTime movie clips, they are unable to "view" them in their browsers. I know that they were encoded as "stand-alone" movies but should I have used the "Streaming" option when I encoded them?

I'm very frustrated because the QT files download and play nicely in all my friends' Macs, but not on Windows. If you are using a Windows machine, please check this link to see what I'm talking about: http://www.raymondluczak.com/life/index.html

While I'm at it, I'm wondering if I am gonna have to re-encode, what is the best way to encode a QT file that was created in Final Cut Pro for fast web downloading without compromising its original 29.97 fps (as many of them use sign language so missed frames aren't a good idea)? Most of them have no sound.

Any suggestions? Thanks ever so much.

Sincerely,

Raymond Luczak

................... and ( since I'm here ) also works for me using IE for windows, but that required a lot of patience on a relatively fast connection, minus point being that there wasn't anything obvious telling me to hold on for a bit, where as Firefox had at least shown me the Quicktime logo.
