Hey, I'm a programmer though not for the mac and I'd like to jump and and write a few apps that being the case, can anyone recommend a good book, nothing too basic since I've been prrogramming for many years.

Also I wanted leverage open source and I'm just investigating that but some source code seems to be in some version control format - CVS? I downloaded SVN can anybody comment on either?

Thanks in advance.

Version control is second in importance only to a compiler, in my opinion, and svn is a good choice. Learn to love it

Cocoa Programming for Mac OS X 2nd edition, by Aaron Hillegass is the standard recommendation, but if you're an experienced programmer you'll outgrow it pretty quickly.
