Hey guys,
Well I am going to start coding a new browser based on WebKit. I'm a very new coder and can't do this all on my own, so I was wondering if any of you want to help me make the browser! I have a very basic start to the code, but would like to take it further.
Here is the Google Code Page to download and stuff:
apocast - Google Code
Also, I would like to know how I could upload an XCode project so it would work on others' machines.
This will also help me learn to code better hopefully.
So thanks, and I hope you take it into account

I like the idea of helping with a a software project its just the fact it is a browser that puts me off. There are already sufficiently good browsers around i dont see any reason for development of a new one.

Honestly, I have to agree. The current browsers seem like a better use of resources. If I'm working to work on a new browser, it better be able to make me waffles or something.

Okay, let's brainstorm. What app could we make together?

I agree. I'm a fairly new coder myself (just got a BA in CS), and I like the idea of getting involved in a software project, but not a browser. Not sure if I can help with ideas...I've been trying to think of a few myself lately and can't seem to figure out anything worth while. I've debated joining another, more mature, project (and thus being able to learn from the experts already involved), but those have seemed pretty tight to get into -- and rightly so, I think. So if anyone has any suggestions on how to get involved in an ongoing project, by all means, speak up. I'll also try to think of ideas and keep an eye on joining possible up-and-coming projects.

I don't know what open-source projects you're looking at, but most I've seen have at least one page (often more) on their Web site devoted to how people can contribute. For instance, the second paragraph of WebKit's front page is about helping out.

What are some projects related to the Mac world? I just got my first mac a few months ago so I come from participating in Linux projects from college. I'm not really interested in WebKit, but that's the right idea. So much of the mac stuff I've looked into seems like more closed development of teams/people than I am used to on the Linux side of things.
