How do you embed an MP4 file so that *any* default video player plays it?

Hi All,

I'm having trouble embedding a video such that the systems default player plays it. Currently my windows systems are asking me to install Quicktime in order to play the video. How do I set it up so that *any* player will play it without any predisposition to Quicktime?
