I am working on a program in Flash that captures video from a webcam for a sign language proficiency test for work. Since all of the researchers have fairly new macbook pros that were purchased by the research lab, they would obviously like to take advantage of them. My coworker and i have tried the program on macs and pcs, but we cannot get it to work with the onboard webcam on the laptops. We have looked around and it seems most any webcam game, or other flash based program that uses a webcam, do not function with the onboard cameras. Does anyone know why this is or possibly a fix for this? I'd rather not have to go to my boss and say they need to buy a bunch of external cameras just to make this work.
