I've been using StartLogic for a few months and from what I can tell, their tech support is terribly slow at responding and the "Control Panel" works 40 percent of the time if that. I really would like a reasonably priced (~$100/yr) web host that actually works and has great tech support. I know this sounds ideal, but are there any ones that I should check out?

Some other people I know mentioned Media Temple. I've seen what they have to offer and for overall storage, it's overpriced ($20/month for 100 GB/yr). What do you think?

What are you looking for in a webhost?

mduell mentioned dreamhost and for a small fee you get a lot of bandwidth and storage. They have had a lot people complaining of performance issues and uptime.

I use ICDSoft, and their uptime, and speed is top notch. I also tried Media Temple and for what you get, its not a bad deal. I opted for ICDSoft because their tech support handles calls within 10 minutes. Thats pretty darn quick.

I echo MacOSNerd's first question: what are you looking for? There are many features offered by the webhosts, tech support and a control panel are merely scratching the surface.
