Hi,
I've been wondering for a while now, how can I change the background picture (on Mac OS X) programmatically, through Cocoa?
Thanks for any ideas,
George.

I'm sorry, I don't quite get what you are trying to do. Are you just trying to change your wallpaper without using system preferences? Are you trying to change it every so often because there is an option to do that in system preferences. Sorry if I'm on the wrong track.

Use NSAppleScript or the Scripting Bridge and tell Finder to set it to whatever you want.

What I want to do is change the background picture of the desktop, using Cocoa. So, say, you choose a picture in the application, click a button, and that picture becomes the desktop background.

Safari can do this, so I would assume there's a way you can use this same "service"? Just a thought.
