I went through the tutorial using interface builder, but want to know if you can
create a complete app w/o using it. For example, can I create window, view, file's owner, etc. w/o it?
thx!

a) Why would you want to do that? There is probably a better way of doing what you want without going that route.

b) You presumably agreed to the NDA when downloading the SDK. That NDA forbids anyone from talking about exactly this sort of thing. It sucks, but that is the way it is.

Yes, you can create windows and views without Interface Builder — in Cocoa, anyway, and I'd be shocked if it weren't so UIKit. Obviously you can't create "file's owner," since there is not in fact any nib file to be owned.

I dunno about the iPhone, since I haven't done any development for that platform (and it's NDAed anyway), but if it's like regular Cocoa apps for Mac OS X, it'll be possible to do so, but it'll be a lot of work and generally not a good idea.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!
