Hello, I want to first say I'm glad I found this community and I really hope I can find some answers

I'm working on a project and as a first milestone I'd like to get a basic 'test' or 'concept' working. This concept will be different in a few ways from the final goal of the project.

With that said I want to say I'm still fairly new to Mac Development, however I have a decent programing background.

For my first concept I want to take the Time Code out of FCP via MIDI output (via a virtual control surface) and display it in software (later will interface this with hardware instead of software). With that said, I've seen this done before (BigTime) however my end goal is not a BigTime clone but I will be sending the FCP TCR Output to hardware in real time.

I hope someone can help steer me in the right direction as where to start and I thank you for your time.
