Just wondering if there are any here on MacNN?

For those that have never heard of YUI, YUI (Yahoo User Interface) is a jQuery competitor - also open source and developed and supported by Yahoo. YUI is more powerful than jQuery, but has a steeper learning curve. It is better suited, IMHO, for large scale applications such as Yahoo Mail (where it is in use) where instead of taping together a bunch of widgets you have modules designed with a set framework designed to enforce consistent behavior and a consistent design approach, including use of syntax, and consistency between modules.

YUI provides their own CDN, and allows third party developers to post their modules/plugins to their CDN (I have one of my own published currently). Each module needed by your app can be lazy loaded off of their CDN so that all you require is their very tiny seed file, and the rest doesn't involve uploading JS files to your server.

Some of the modules developed by Yahoo include DataTable (for making iTunes style table listings which can be edited inline, sorted, etc.), AutoComplete, Uploader, YQL (for pulling particular content off of a webpage), History (bookmarkable URLs and a working back button for Javascript navigation), and a whole bunch of other things (YUI Examples). I've grown quite fond of it!

Any other users here?

No, but if they have a dynamic xml-related SVG map which has color coding and editable hover divs, that'd be swell...

Seriously, sounds cool!

Something to generate a SVG map from XML, you mean?

YUI does support handling SVG, including animation and node handling:

In the YUI 3 Gallery: Extensions for SVG, Created for SVG Wow! » Yahoo! User Interface Blog (YUIBlog)

As stated in this blog post the svg-wow.org site is driven by YUI, here is a very cool demo that incorporates SVG for those of you who find these sorts of demos inspiring

http://svg-wow.org/gandhi-quotes/gandhi-quotes.xhtml

you need a modern browser to access this URL, obviously!

Using jQuery because it's what I know. I've heard of YUI, looked at it briefly, but it was too different to pick up and use without some learnage. jQuery works for what I do, no need for learnage.

jQuery works fine for most people, nothing wrong with it, but on the other hand if you take time to learn YUI you'll probably get more mileage out of Javascript, and you can still embed jQuery widgets and stuff for when a library exists in jQuery but not YUI.
