The situation:
I have a network connected through a getway to a cable modem. The Gateway Mac is a Quadra, My main Mac, and the only PPC on the network is a 7500 G3. This computer plugs right into my stereo for optimum MP3 listening. I also have a Powerbook 520 on the netowkr right next to my bed. Since I can't get the 520 to play MP3's (68K), I decided I would somehow get the 520 to get the 7500 to play them. SoundJam, the MP3 player of choice, is very scriptable, so I can totally control it through Scripts (or a simple app that use apple events). But how do can I:
•Send AppleEvents over a network?
•If that's not possible, how can I run a script on a different target computer?
I remember OS9 I believe had some upgrade to AppleScript that allowed for some sort of networkign capability.

MacOS 9's Applescript networking has nothing to do with the problem you're presenting. The functionality you require has existed for a long time. First, make sure that you have the very latest version of SoundJam as it is the only version that supports remote Apple Events. Turn Program Linking on in your File Sharing control panel. Then, for a _very_ simple interface, open a new script in Script Editor and type:

tell application "SoundJam" of machine "<7500's machine name goes here>"
play
end tell

Replace the word play with virtually any command in SoundJam's dictionary for more options.
