Is there anyway to set the startup disk with AppleScript?

I want to make a small script that changes the boot partition every time the computer is shut down (by putting it in the shutdown items folder).

Any ideas/comments would be much appreciated.

I'm not aware of any.

In fact, most settings in Mac OS control panels are not scriptable. I wish they were, and I have been semi-crusading on several AppleScript lists for a year to have that happen. It would make disk imaging setups (see my MacSetup page at <http://macsetup.editthispage.com/> ) and automated configuration of Macs a lot simpler (and possibly cheaper) for system administrators.

But Apple doesn't really play to the sys admin market much. Oh well.

There is one scripting addition called (of all things) "Set Startup Disk". It can be found here:
http://www.osaxen.com/index.php3?id=set_startup

I have had mixed results using it. Sometimes it just would not work for me. But it is the only thing out there that I could find.

Good Luck
