I'm trying to use keychain unlocker to mount IP volumes at startup.

My server's IP address: 192.168.1.101
My server volume 1: "File Server"
My server volume 2: "Program Server"

So, I'm trying to edit your script so it says "afp://192.168.1.101/File Server" but when I do that it fails. I'm assuming it's because of the space in my server volume. Is there a workaround for this that doesn't involve me renaming my volumes so there is no space?

I can get the volumes to mount using appletalk but I'd like to use IP.

Thanks,

Larry

Tried putting %20 and _ in place of the space and it still does not work.

Hi Larry,

I guess you're using Carnation Software's Keychain Unlocker script? To isolate the exact error, try temporarily executing the 'mount volume' command by itself (i.e., outside of the 'try / on error / end try' block). Most AppleTalk, AFP and TCP/IP error codes are listed in Apple's TIL articles such as Mac OS System Error Codes: -299 to -5553 or Open Transport: Error Codes. With any luck, the error number or message will provide a better clue.

Is your target server running AppleShare IP or Mac OS 9 File Sharing over TCP/IP? Recall that not all AppleShare servers automatically support AppleTalk over TCP/IP, so double-check that the necessary options are configured on the server side to allow this.

Regards,
