Is there any life in C++ Mac land ?

I'm sure this is probably a closed thread, but I'm one of those crazy people on teh Mac platform who's learning C++, and wondered if there's anybody else "out there" who's doing so with codewarrior on the Mac Platform?

Or,, any good sites/boards for Mac C++ people?

Thanks,
Phil

Hi Phil,

As you can see from the above responses, the anwser to your question is 'Yes!' :-) For some additional C++/Mac programming resources, please see the related threads in this Forum -- e.g., the C++ thread (for Mac C++ & programming links), and the Which Platform? thread (for Mac programmer job sites, and a guide to Windows development for Mac programmers). There are also some related threads over in the Mac OS Forum -- e.g., the help, I want to be a programmer??? thread, which itself links to several other posts as well.

As for CodeWarrior-specific resources, in addition to the CodeWarriorU.com link given by mindwaves above, Google.com's new {formerly Deja.com's} Usenet Discussion Service provides a {currently beta} web-based interface to the major Usenet 'comp.sys.mac.*' newsgroups, including comp.sys.mac.programmer.codewarrior and comp.sys.mac.oop.powerplant.

Regards, and happy developing,

--Paul

Thanks everyone,

Those links should keep me going for a little while ;-)

Paul you're a star, lots of great, helpful posts from you all over these boards. I once worked with two terrific IT guys at Grolier from Guyana, very nice blokes, Mohammed Rafik, and Rafik Mohammed. There must be a tradition of such helpfulness in Guyana.

Anyway, time to retire with C++ Primer Plus

Hi Phil,

Once again, I wish you all the very best in your C++ adventures. Like any other computer language (OOP or not), C++ inspires much joy *and* much pain, so just keep a level head and you'll be fine.

[BTW, thanks for all the kind words! And, if I can serve as another example of the famously good-natured Guyanese IT folks, so much the better. :-) But really, I'm just one of the many programmers and scripters from around the world (including the USA) who do try to help as much as possible (and learn as much as we can from others too), at least whenever we're not tearing our hair out over some piece of buggy code (usually our own). ;-) Which reminds me, if you haven't already done so, you should also check out the very vibrant OS X - Developer Forum for all the lowdown on Apple's latest OS. Ah, the sweet chaos of progress...]

Warm regards,

--Paul
