Hi. I am working on a project for school that involves the creation of a website, and I'd like the visitors to the site to see a series of quotations (about four or five) that fade in and out on a dark background (a la www.didomusic.com) I'm totally new to most of this software, so it's been a little rough getting started.

So far, I have created the quotes in Fireworks, animated them, and exported them as .swf files. Unfortunately, I wanted the quotes to fade in AND fade out, and the animation capabilities of Fireworks seems like it only allows you to start at one opacity and go to another.

Can anyone help me out here? I have access to Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Photohop, and a few other web/photo apps. Do I need Director for this task, or just a bit of book-larnin'?

Thanks!
-waterman

Go to http://www.macromedia.com/exchange/dreamweaver/ and join the exchange, you can find an "extension" to dreamweaver that will let you do this, if you cant find one at the above link have a look for links to '"extensions' developers". It is out there somewhere.

the site http://www.didomusic.com/ intro was done in flash... you *can* do that type of animation as a gif, although, it will end up being quite large.
