Hi all.
I am trying to develop a simple Realbasic program. Basically, I use Realbasic 2.1.2 and I want to use the project no. 6 in the tutorials files at http://www.realbasic.com/release.html I want to modify the project so that a font and a size of choice is selected automatically.

I appreciate the nobel task you are undertaking and I commend you for it.

The first thing to do is to properly learn RealBasic. Then you could probably use character codes to convert from 2 alphanumeric characters in the form of strings to the character code for each of the characters of the font.
