Hey all,
I have a user who needs my help and I don't have the knowledge to help her. Perhaps someone here and help me out.
She is using Netscape 4.x and when she clicks an email address, she would like Eudora to open with a new message qued up with the address. Right now it opens Netscape Messenger. No good. I've seen this done once before and I know it's a really simple (approx. three lines) AppleScript. However, I know exactly jack about AppleScript so I would really appreciate it if someone could spell it out for me here.
Thanks a lot,
D

You should be able to fix that without AppleScript. Which OS is she using? If it 8 or abave she should be able to map that out in the Internet Control Panel. Click on the Email tab and at the bottom there is a Menu to select the default email application.

Tried that, didn't work. Netscape still tries to open Messenger but comes up with an error message because she didn't enter in her information. Any other suggestions?
Thanks.

I think this link from the ResExcellence archives has the script you're looking for. The script can just be pasted into a new script window in "Script Editor" & run from there... you may need to run it twice to take effect (or just open Netscape before running the script) - since Netscape must be active to make the switch.
Haven't tried it with Eudora (I think "CSOm" is still the correct creator code), but works fine for Outlook Express (creator code "MSNM")
