I'm taking a java class that I'm going to need to write java applets and applications for. The book says I need to get the Java 1.3 SDK from www.javasoft.com , but they only have the downloads for windows and unix.

But, all the screenshots of the programs and code in the book are from a Mac. Any ideas?

just an FYI I am ALSO learning Java right now , part time on my own which means it can get slow at times...

but anyway I'm reading an AWESOME book called Thinking in Java. Its gotten great reviews from other WebObject Developers (which I am working towards) Check it out for yourself at:
http://www.mindview.net/Books/TIJ/

you can download the book for free or buy it bound from popular places like Amazon. My rec would be to print out the preface and ch1 to get a feel for it and then buy the printed version to spare your printer.

Mike

Also I'm using Project Builder in OS X to write java To learn how to do so: http://developer.apple.com/java/
