I always feel like an idiot asking these questions...okay, here's my problem. I try to install the developer tools I downloaded from ADC, and every time, I get the message, "Couldn't write bom to path, Please try installing again."

It just never works for me. So, am I an idiot, or what?

are you trying to install to a disk other than your OS X boot disk? if so, this could cause the installer to screw up.

Actually, I just found the answer in the OS X General discussions section...which means, I AM an idiot for posting this thread.

Okay, so here's the answer for those of you having this problem...expand the file you downloaded with OpenUp instead of the included OS X Stuffit Expander.
