I was hoping that ProjectBuilder and other dev. tools were going to be shipped with the retail version of OS X, but it looks like my hopes were extenguished today when I got the ADC e-mail that said that the dev. tools along with OS X will be included with the next ADC mailing (which I'm not a part of), and only OS X and 9.1 will be included in the retail version.

I've thought about downloading it from ADC's site, but it's 90-something MB big, and I have a measly 56K modem, which tends to drop connections after a while. Anybody have any other suggestions on how I can get it when it comes out?

That newsletter was worded kind of funny, it doesn't necessarily mean that we won't be getting the dev tools with the retail version. Keep your hopes up.

The most common solution is to ask someone to burn it for you.

It is an encouraging thought, because when I e-mailed ADC about it, they didn't seem to know. They e-mailed me back saying that they have no information on what's going to be included in the retail version, and told me to ask the Apple Store (who hasn't responded). And, yes, that last e-mail was worded in an ambiguous way ("we're not telling you it is, but we're not telling you it isn't-- we like to tease your butt"), which leaves the possibility open, but not wanting to be disappointed, I'm expecting it to not be there when I open the box.

I really need DSL.

Well, if shots over in the general discussion forum are to be believed, it appears that it does ship with them in the box. YAY!
