Just interested in anyone's thoughts / impressions: is there a much of a demand from employers for programmers with Cocoa skills?

I have a few years experience with Java and C. I've begun messing about with Cocoa recently, and I truly love it. I would like to dive into Cocoa whole-heartedly, but part of me holds back and wonders: "...could I ever get a job doing this?"

Curious to hear your thoughts about the current and future state of the Cocoa programmer marketplace.

Well it all depends on where you look in my experience so far (admittedly limited). For example if you go to Monster.com and search for Cocoa or Objective-C you're likely to get "shut out". However, I believe some well known development shops are likely to be looking for Cocoa developers.

I doubt the likes of Adobe or Macromedia would be looking just yet, but companies like Roxio, Macsoft and Micromat probably are. Additionally I wager companies like Epson and HP and UMAX are hiring Cocoa geeks too - to write their OS X drivers for them.

If you're looking for work I'd consider writing some query letters to a few mid-size developers and see what they're looking for.
