would anyone have any ideas for removing the alias arrow in the dock alone? I don't won't to remove them from the entire system, that could lead to confusion, but they are very ugly in the dock.

Why not just drop the item itself into the dock as opposed to an alias to the item? What are you trying to do that requires the alias to be dropped in instead of the item itself?

It would be a lot to get into, but what I'm doing requires an alias in the dock to protect the original icon incase it needs to be restored.
