Hello all. After tweaking my Mac, upgrading it's hardware, and basically using nothing but OS X for the last few months while my PC collects dust, I'm finally ready to start using the Development Tools. Can anyone suggest a good way for a newbie such as me to start using these (books, websites, etc.)? I've never used C++ so I am at a bit of a disadvantage, but is there stuff that I can do anyway?

Thanks...

Well, what languages do you know? Cocoa apps can't really use C++ (yet). Cocoa likes Objective C and/or Java.

I'd suggest starting by reading some of the Inside Mac OS X: System Overview (pdf), the Application Kit docs, and Foundation docs... all of which should also be on your hard drive. For basic tutorials, go through Apple's Currency Conversion tutorial (also on your HD) and perhaps the Vermont Recipes Cookbook tutorial. You could also sign up on Apple's Cocoa-Users Mailing List

Here are some helpful websites:

Well, that's all a good start if you plan on using Cocoa. As for Carbon, well, I can't help ya there.
