Hi,
I am trying to compile gcc (v2.95.3) to allow me to create code for the gameboy advance. I have to compile it with the target as either arm-elf or thumb-elf. I have some instructions for doing it on linux, but I can't get gcc to compile. It does not like powerpc-apple as the host.

Has anyone compiled gcc on Mac OS X 10.0.4? I know that it is in the Developer tools, but that version was not compiled with the arm/thumb support.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
John

I'm sure I've heard of someone cross-compiling gcc with ARM on Darwin, but I think they might have been using 3.0. I can't tell you where I read it though, but I have a sneaking suspicion it might have been on darwin-development, but I can't see it on a quick search. *shrug*

You can't compile any version of GCC prior to 3.0-core on MacOS X. Only 3.0 will recognise MacOS X as a host. I've successfully compiled gcc for sh-unknown-elf and arm-unknown-elf using 3.0 on MacOS X. If you need any help, contact me at <mailto:james@essencesw.com>
