I'm the only mac in a windows web development shop and we use source safe for version control. Anybody know if there will be some kind of source safe compatible client for OSX?

That'd probably be up to the Evil Empire (microsoft) - to make a VSS client. Apple (and almost everyone else) uses CVS.

But you might want to check sourceforge (www.sourceforge.net) - and see if anyone's built a open source interface to VSS. I would imagine that you arent the only person who has this problem.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/vssextractor/ - i just checked and i found this. i'm sure other projects could be found with some more searching.

thx, i'll dig through that. Metrowerks actually makes a VSS client for OS9, but it's only compatible through VSS version 5 and it's $499. I've used cvs a lot and prefer it over VSS, but I'm stuck at an all Microsoft shop...

Make them move to CVS, there's a winblows client (WinCVS).

I wish but not likely. It's a gigantic company with 'standards'. George Bush is more likely vote yes on kyoto than my company is to switch from anything microsoft.
