What is the best Java IDE for OS X, specifically Java Swing apps. I'm currently voting for Netbeans. Does JBuilder 5 (now released) work on OS X without having to first install it on a Windows machine and then copy it over to OS X?
What are other options? I have Codewarrior 6 and of course there is the free Project Builder but I haven't been impressed with them on OS X.

Sun's Forte for Java, Community Edition works very well for me. As a true Java app it also has the side benefit of working EXACTLY the same on the PC side of things making cross platform group project development easier.
It does not get along completely with 1.3.1 DP2 though, did not use it on DP1 at all.

I've had a bad experience using CodeWarrior for Java. Forte I installed by just installing the Solaris version. I haven't actually used it yet though. Project Builder worked fine, but lacked the cross platform ability.

The Solaris version of JBuilder 4 works fine on my Ti400 (a bit slow). But It crash every minutes on 5F24.

Do you know how well OS X works with the Solaris version of JBuilder 5?
Thanks,

A couple Borland reps. contacted me at work a little while ago about my (the company's) interest in JBuilder 5 for OSX. They said it would available in the fall. (I think that's also stated on their web site). I'd wait for that if you can wait, and you want to use JBuilder. It will be a supported build and all. JBuilder isn't bad. I always seem to go back to gvim though
Hope this helps.

Just found one of the links. I'm sure there is a MacOSX personal edition available as well, if you don't want to fork out cash for the Professional version. I really didn't check it out though.
