You could try pulling up the patents: they usually go into a fair amount of detail. I'd give you a link but I've deleted all my "evil" links which includes patents. (A respected patent attorney claims that about 95% of technology patents should never have been awarded. That doesn't apply to Apple of course. Sorry I mean M$'s. )

But you can start at http://www.uspto.gov and search.

I dont know, I think it would be cool whit handwriting recognition. I love my wacom tablet and it would be cool to write something like that. If a dont study this sommer I might try port it. Didnt microsoft licened the Newton Handwriting recognition for their tablet PC?
