newbie question here...

has anyone had luck installing mysql/php on OSX for local web application development? If I could develop web apps offline using the localhost server on my powerbook, then port to my freeBSD 4.0 server with relative ease, that would change my life big time.

Any wisdom mucho appreciated.

Yes and yes. I just installed php and mysql on my powerbook and both seem to be working fine. There is a thread on how to get php working in OS X in the usage& support forum and the mysql package from lightyear design still works. It's an older version but I haven't been able to get the newest version installed on my computer. So, consider your life changed. Good luck.
